Ocean Club Child Care facilities

The childcare facilities are divided into:

  • Baby Club (children up to 11 months)
  • Toddler Club - Toddlers 1 (Children between 1 and 2), Toddlers 2 (Children between 2 and 3)
  • Mini Club (children between 3 and 5)
  • Junior Club (children between 6 and 9)
  • Kids Club (children between 10 and 13)
  • Indyes Club (children between 14 and 17)

Operating hours:

  • Mornings: 9am-12.30pm
  • Afternoons: 2.30-5.30pm
  • Dining Out Service 7.30pm-11.30pm

(children are watched in a room above the main Ocean Club 24hour reception; there is no extra charge for this service but parents must take and fetch their own children)

  • “Baby sitting Service”: 7.30pm-1am

(children are watched in their own apartments; there is an extra charge for this service)

The crêche is open every day, except for Saturdays, which is the day off for all the nannies. On Saturdays there is just a support service for any eventual need, involving two nannies.

Organisational structure

The organisational structure of the Ocean Club Child Care is a bit unclear, and child care workers seem to change from group to group. From the statements this is what can approximately be deduced:

Manager:

Head / Supervisor:

Leaders:

Nannies / Educators:

Donna Louise Rafferty Hill, Manager of the Creche Staff for Mark Warner, advised the PJ of the following:

“The latter advised us that all these employees are English nationals and that they came to work in Portugal from March/April until November; that there are 13 people who work in the creche, their names and telephone numbers being as follows: [NOTE: Phone numbers withheld]

  • Pauline Francis M.
  • Emma Louise W.
  • Sarah Elizabeth W.
  • Susan bernadette O.
  • Leanne Danielle W.
  • Shinead Maria V.
  • Jacqueline Mary W.
  • Kirsty Louise M.
  • Lynne R.F.
  • Catriona Treasa Sisile B.
  • Stacey P.
  • Lyndsay Jayne J.
  • Amy Ellen T.

It is interesting to note that CHARLOTTE PENNINGTON is missing from this list! For more see: –> PJ Files

There has been speculation that Charlotte came as a nanny to one of the Tapas 9. This cannot be substantiated.

Charlotte lived in Howick, New Zealand from when she was 18 months old. Kate McCann worked in a hospital in Howick, New Zealand in 1996. (needs some more research).
